Roxane Gabriela Weber joined the Amman Office of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) as Head, starting on September 1, 2023, after seven years in the Headquarters, and 9 years in the Directorate General for Development Cooperation at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
With a solid academic background in Economics, an MBA from Winthrop University (USA), an MA in International Macroeconomic Analysis and International Finance from the University of Lund (SE), and a BA in Economics and Management, Roxane began her professional career in the Banking sector in Switzerland, working then for various international companies in the private sector in Italy.
Her diplomatic path started by joining the USA Embassy in Rome, working then for the Directorate General of Political Affairs in the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as an Economic-Financial Consultant for Iraq Programs. This has been followed by long experience in the Directorate General for Development Cooperation, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a Senior Program Officer, in charge of Bilateral, Multilateral, and Soft Loans initiatives in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Myanmar.
She then joined the Economic Development Office at the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Rome as the Desk Officer for Iraq. In this role, she was responsible for programming cooperation initiatives in Iraq and other countries in the Middle East (including Jordan), as well as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, South America, and West Africa.
Working then in the Office of Civil Society Organizations, Partnerships, and Finance for Development at the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, overseeing Debt Swap and Soft Loan Programs in Africa and all countries where the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation intervenes.
Since September 2023 Roxane has been nominated as Head of AICS Amman Office.
Besides German, she masters Italian, English, French, and Spanish.
