On March 7, 2024, Amman witnessed a significant milestone in Jordan’s public sector modernization as the Jordan Institute of Public Administration (IPA) celebrated the graduation of its Government Leadership Program. This pivotal event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Shraideh, Civil Service Office Chairman H.E. Sameh Al-Nasser, Interior Minister H.E. Mazen Al Farayah, Italian Ambassador H.E. Luciano Pezzotti, and AICS Amman Office Head Roxane Weber.
A New Generation of Leaders
Designed to equip Jordan with a new generation of leaders capable of driving the nation’s public sector reforms, the Leadership Program was a collaborative effort between the IPA, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), and the European Organization for Public Law (EPLO).
This intensive 300-hour program covered a wide range of topics, including leadership, policy planning, results-based management, and digital transformation. Participants also had the unique opportunity to experience firsthand the Italian approach to public administration through a study tour to Italy, where they engaged with experts at the Italian National School of Administration.
A Partnership for Progress
In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Shraideh emphasized the program’s crucial role in Jordan’s public sector modernization roadmap. He expressed gratitude to the Italian government for its continued support and highlighted the strong partnership between the two nations.
Roxane Weber, Head of the AICS Amman Office, reiterated AICS’ commitment to Jordan’s development. She praised the collaborative efforts of the IPA, EPLO, and SNA, and congratulated the graduates on their achievements. “Your enthusiasm and dedication are truly inspiring,” she said. “You are the architects of a brighter future for Jordan’s public administration.”
A Promising Future
The 25 graduates of this program represent a new generation of public servants poised to drive positive change in Jordan. Their skills and knowledge will be invaluable as they work to shape a more efficient, effective, and citizen-centric government.
