Emilio Cabasino, head of AICS Amman

Welcome from the AICS Amman Head of Office!

 

Since August 2021, Emilio Cabasino is the new Head of Office at AICS Amman, responsible for Jordan and Iraq.

Archaeologist specialized in Ancient Topography, researcher, consultant and trainer on economics and culture management, Cabasino has worked since 1987 in the cultural sector, at the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and as a consultant and trainer on economics and management of the cultural sector.

At the same time as his service in the public sector, he created and managed a non-profit organization aimed at research, consultancy and training in the Culture sector, in addition to carrying out research and teaching activities in Italian academic training courses.

Appointed in 2010 as an archaeologist officer at the Ministry of Culture, he worked at the General Secretariat as an expert in international relations and UNESCO procedures for intangible cultural heritage (2003 Convention). He carried out service missions in Algeria, Tunisia and Jordan.

Between 2015 and 2018, he played the role of Coordinator of the WTO (Open Method of Coordination) Working Group for the European Commission on the theme of the role of culture as a tool for integrating migrants and refugees.

Since 2017 he has collaborated with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation as a Technical Cooperation Officer, focusing in particular on cultural heritage and cultural activities as engines for sustainable development.

 

Emilio Cabasino was appointed as the AICS Amman  Head of Office in August 2021.
